Growing Gratitude

growing gratitude is inspired by the blog Earth Mama 101

I am incredibly grateful for all of the yard work my husband puts in. He keeps the lawns looking amazing, and he gets the beds ready for planting without even being asked-so wonderful.

I am grateful for spring and the abundance of life and color after the long rainy months of winter. So happy with the warmth of the sun and the cool of the shade and blessed with a houseful of fresh flowers.

I am grateful for an adventurous outgoing son who loves to learn and try new things, a son in love with being outdoors and shares his mother's love for all things barefoot.

I am grateful for our puppy, it is always amazing to bring a new something into a family, how each person forges a new relationship and bond. I am also grateful that Pixie has a new best friend, Jack the Mastiff/Great Dane cross who lives on the other side of this fence.

I am grateful for the nearby parks that deliver a great place for the kids to off-load their energy while mama gets in some reading or crocheting in the great-outdoors. Grateful also for the large blanket I keep in the trunk should such a spontaneous opportunity arise.
So grateful for my daughter who reminds me everyday what it is to be a girl, the mysterious combination of "can I wear this dress outside?" and "mom come look at this huge worm we caught.", she is a smart inquisitive and inherently loving soul who makes me better for having her. I tell her all the time "I love you because you made me a mom, and I love Iain because he made me a better one." Eternally and endlessly grateful.

  2. What a beautiful, touching post. How quickly we forget to be grateful for the abundance in our lives.

    Thank you.

    1. Thanks Natalie, I know there is always so much going on and we are all so busy, sometimes stopping to be grateful is the most important thing we can do to keep a healthy perspective of life :)
