Simple Woman's Daybook
Outside my window:: It is a glorious sunny warm spring day in the north-west, the birds are chirping, the kids are busy outside, and it makes me long for summer.
I am thinking:: I can't believe today is Thursday already. Spring Break always goes by so fast.
I am thankful:: I am thankful for the imagination of children, how the most simple of backyard games can become an adventure. How bubbles and a bucket of water are the essential ingredients of a fun morning on the deck.
In the kitchen:: Breakfast this morning was super simple fare, everyone wanted toast with jam, home-made bread with home-made blackberry jam is by far the favourite here, especially the day after bread day.
I am creating:: I ran out of yarn for the little lovey blanket I'm working on, so I will start something new today, not sure what yet but I am planning a yarn store trip tomorrow.
I am going:: Nowhere, today is laundry day, and the kids are long gone outside, Robert is out and about in the yard and garage, and it's just too nice to leave home.
I am wondering:: I am wondering if I am the only one considering making my Christmas list for this year so i can begin making them and actually be so far ahead that I can make extra gifts?
I am reading:: I am reading my new cookbook-love it, everything looks delicious.
I am hoping:: I am hoping this lovely weather holds out till Saturday for the opening day of the farmer's market, and the daffodil parade in Puyallup.
Around the house:: Around the house spring cleaning is taking a bit longer than I had expected, there are so many distractions with my husband and kids home all week. No matter how much I love cleaning and reorganizing, and I do, sometimes sitting on the deck with them is the right thing to do.
A favorite quote for today:: The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day.
~Robert Frost
