Yarn, Yarn, Yarn

{I am linking back to Nicole from Frontier Dreams for this post}

I have been working on a baby gift for a friend recently, something new that I have never tried, a vest type sweater with a hood, my friend is due in late summer. It still needs it's buttons but I super love it with the hood, I'm going to have to work that into a few more projects. This is also the first sweater I have ever blocked, not that I didn't know about it, but being a crocheter there is less call for blocking. Though the more knitting I look at the more I am determined to learn.

It was such a glorious spring day Monday everything in the house was warm and flooded with sun light-so thankful for all of our large windows.
I am also working on a lovey blanket to go with the sweater in a cute pattern called twinkle stars, it's soft but thick enough to stand up to years of use, my son turned 5 yesterday and still sleeps with his every night.  I have also updated to a basket for my work on the sofa, our puppy, Pixie is now 13 weeks old and can reach everything, I thought my yarns strewn all over would be too much temptation, so I found a nylon basket with a lining at a local second hand store and it is perfect.
There is also this lovely set of booties that are part of an order-my "guilty" order is what I call it. It is a very large order I received just before the accident and I am always working on it but I don't have the stamina in my shoulder yet for long crochet sessions or when I do too much I defiantly pay for it later. It will get done though I am determined!

Working on things I know will be used and loved by others is such a joy. I love giving hand made gifts and I love getting them, there is something so special about someone spending the time to make something with their hands for you.

I also have begun a new more crafty endeavor I was inspired by something I saw on Etsy and put my own spin on it, I am very happy with them.

The blue one was my first and it was fun to make and so fast, it went to the teachers at my daughter's school for teacher appreciation day.  The second one is a quote by Audrey Hepburn and went as part of a birthday present to one of Finnley's little friends on her 6th birthday a couple weeks ago.  They are fun and easy little projects on canvas and involving glitter, it is totally unlike me-ask anyone-but I seriously love glitter. The super-fine jewel tones are just beautiful.

It is a rainy morning, the first in almost a week, so it is bread making, and house cleaning day. The kids are happily playing with Iain's new Lincoln Logs set building an airport I think, Pixie is napping on Robert and the coffee is super hot, have a wonderful Wednesday.

    1. I have such a hard time with booties! and gloves, socks, anything you have to make 2 of, and it has nothing to do with the patterns I'm good with that, it's just I get bored after the 1st one-lol...but the colour on these was just too sweet, had to finish them :)
